Happy Birthday...Challenge at WhoopsiDaisy

Hi everyone!

Ready for a new challenge? At WhoopsiDaisy we want to celebrate birthdays. This is a wide theme. You can make just about anything. Just slap on a birthday sentiment and there you go. Easy peasy or what? So hop on over and join us. We just can`t wait to see what you can come up with.

This time i have made a card using one of my fav colours though i don`t use it too much. I just looove most shades of blues. This one is more turqoise/minty coloured. I just love the paper and the colour combo on it. I was out of turqoise cardstock but if you don`t have the right colour you can allways make it yourself. For the matting behind the image i used the same kind of printing paper that i use for my stamps and i just used my ProMarker to colour around the edges that were going to show around the edge of the image. And voila... you have a "cardstock" in the exact colour you want. The paper i`m using for printing digi-images is called Colour Copy and the weight is 200 g/m2. I buy it at Staples It is perfect to use for matting too so i save a lot of money not using basill as matting. It is thicker than ordinary printer paper and thinner than basill. I imagine for those of you that have die-cutting systems this must be the perfect paper to cut out embellishments. there are 250 sheets pr unit and i don`t remember exactly but i believe i payed about 150 norwegian kroners for it. (about $25 or £18 or probabely less in the US and UK since the Norwegian taxes is ridiculous) So you can do the math... lot of money to save.

I used some glossy accent on the bubles to make it look like water.

Challenges i am entering:

I did it creations - Challenge #56 Anything goes
2 Sisters - Challenge #40 Use a digi
Allsorts - Week 104 Birthday
Shannon`s Sentiments - Challenge #27 Birthdays
Totally Gorjuss - Challenge #81 Water, water
Crafty Catz - Challenge #83 Anything goes
Fun at fairy knoll - Flowers
Inspire me fridays - Challenge #7 Anything goes

Christmas in may at Phindy`s Place

Hi peeps!

Here we go with a new challenge over at Phindy`s Place. We are doing Christmas-cards in may. It might be a good idea to start creating you`re christmas-cards early course when the time comes there allways is a shortage of christma-cards. I know most of you have stashed away your christmas stuff but now you have an excuse to get it out again, lol. The winner is picked randomly and wins a gift certificate of $5 to use in Phindy`s store. We also have a pick of the week which is chosen by the DT. The pick of the week also wins a gift certificate of $5 to use in Phindy`s store. The pick of the week is also eligible to get to be pick of the month which wins a guest DT spot and a free Phindy`s image to use in the challenge.

For my card this time i have used some papers from BoBunny`s christmas collection from last year. And i made it a gate-fold card. Since i don`t own a die-cutting system i had to cut the oval by hand. It is NOT easy to get an even circle but i think it looks fairly ok. I inked the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink. and stamped the edges with a swirlstamp from Tim Holtz. The image is coloured with ProMarkers.

The colours i have used is:

Hair: Primrose, buttercup and pastel yellow
Skin: Vanilla, blush and oatmeal
Dress: Poppy, berry red and crimson

The Wings, halo and edges of the dress is covered with stickles stardust. Which looks a bit furry when applied.

Punches at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey Crafters!

The past week was for me a really stressfull one. I got a lot of extra shifts at work and my best friend`s daughter got confirmed. And as if i didn`t have enough to do blogger went awol. This week will hopefully be a little better though our national day is tomorrow. Here in Norway we have the most amazing celebration of our National day. We dress up nice and find our flags and parading in the streets. Those that don`t parade are standing along the route cheering the parade. This has been usual celebration since the end of the 1800`s.

We are also going to get a new valuation on our house so i have to tidy and clean...A LOT, lol. It`s not easy to have turbo 3-year old that messes up the house before i can say cake, lol. Maybe i have to rent her out for a few days, lol.

Well anyway....a bit late...here is my samplecard for this weeks challenge at WhoopsiDaisy. I have used an image from sheet #138. Aren`t these just sooooo cute and adorable? I looove them. The punches is have used is the Monarch butterfly punch and the double edge doily lace trim punch both from Martha Stewart and the flowers is an EK success daisy punch. The papers are from Tim Holtz`s Vintage shabby collection.

The colours i have used on the image is:
Hair: caramel, tan, putty and satin. on the boy i only used putty and satin.

Two cards...one image at Phindy`s

Hi everyone!

This post is so late that i can`t enter any challenges with these cards. Though i had made the first one with the thought of entering it at CLP. But i`ll just have to make another card for this challenge. Well...at Phindy`s Place this week we have a bit more time-consuming challenge for you. You have to make two cards or more using just one image. And the layout must be different too. How exciting is this? So let your creating juices flow and hop on over tho the challengeblog and join us. The ladies has once again made some fabulous creations.

For my cards i have used the oh so adorable digi "Fresh buns". Isn`t it totally adorable. I looove this image. You can find it here in Phindy`s store if you want it.

I hoped to catch the waterdrops better. I have used glossy accents to make the waterdrops look more real.

Twilight Lily Fae

Hey peeps!

It has been a real crappy week and it got topped by blogger being awol. It`s typical when i have a work-weekend that something like this happens. So i was not able to scedule my post. I am also behind on my postings and i am going to make waldorf salad and another card for the monday challenge at WhoopsDaisy. Guess if i am stressed out?...lol. I think it will be a looooong night, lol.

Well anyway...for my card today have used another one of the brand new digis designed Sara Burrier. It`s called Twilight Lily Fae and it is available right here. I struggeled a bit with the colouring but the end result was not too bad.

Things with wings at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey everyone!

Last challenge at WhoopsiDaisy obviously was a difficult one. There were not many who entered the challenge but the few that did, had some great creations. We are doing one nice and easy this time, so we want to see things with wings. It can be anything you want as long as it has wings on it.

For my card i have used a colour-combo that is a bit outside of my comfort-zone. I was peeking through my earlier blogposts the other day and i noticed that i use a looooooot of pink in my creations, so i challenged myself to do a card in some other colours. The image i chose looks a bit 70`s and orange was a popular colour those days, so i just had to try it. I am actually not surtain of what i think about it so i`ll just leave it up to you to make an opinion of it. The image i have used can you find here on sheet #67.

Please jump on over to WhoopsiDaisy and join our challenge this week. There are a couple of sheets of Linnie`s fabby digis up for grabs for the lucky winner.

Below you can see some more closeups.

Challenges i am entering:

The cheerful stamp pad - Challenge #17 Girls with curls
Come and get it - Happy birthday

Embossing challenge at Phindy`s Place

Good morning Crafters!

Are you ready for another challenge at Phindy`s Place? Yes? Well, then hop on over and let your creative juices flow. My talentes co-designers has some fabulous creations waiting for you to get inspired from. All the images we use, you can find in Phindy`s shop and there are some incredibly cute images there. I have fallen in love with the Wee Babbies collection. Just take look, i know you will love them.

Since i don`t own a die-cutting system i don`t have the opportunity to make my own embossed papers. Luckely i had a couple of sheets with pre-embossed papers laying around. They didn`t have the colour i really was going for but the end result didn`t turn out too bad. The image is called Flower top fairy mushroom minx and you can find it here.

The colours i used for the image are these:

Hair: Walnut, terracotta, spice and honeycomb
Dress: China blue and blue pearl
Skin: Vanilla, blush and oatmeal and pale pink for the cheeks.
Mushroom: Cinnamon, tan, putty and satin
Shoes: Marsh green and leaf green
The ladybug: Ruby and Crimson, black and cool grey 2
The ground is sandstone and the swirl is a mini-swirl from prima.

These are the challenges i am entering:

Art Impressions Stamps - Challenge #15 Bling, glitter and sparkle

Paper crafting journey - Challenge #9 Bling
Stamp insanity - Lets bling it on
My mums craftshop - Challenge #4 Cute and girly

Swirls Challenge at Crafts and Me

Hey, hey, hey!

This week it is the Dynamite digi team`s turn to set the challenge. And it is the lovely Karina that has chosen the theme. I looooove swirls! Don`t you? I think they make a wonderful embellishment on a creation. The only thing i miss, is having a die-cutting system with the possibility to make swirls. Now i have to handdraw and cut them myself and it takes forever, therefor i don`t use them too often.

Well, anyway...the girls have really made some stunning creations this time. It really is amazing to see their colouring skills. They are soooo talented and i am sure if you pop by their personal blogs and leave them some sugar, they don`t get sad about it, lol.

Today i want to showcase one of the brand new digis created by the amazingly talented Sara Burrier. I truly loooove these new digis. If you visit the Crafts and Me store you can se all the new digis. If you don`t visit you really are missing out on some true masterpieces. Need i say more?

The name of this royal beauty is Natalie (i think she looks royal, lol) and you can find her here.

These are the colours i used to colour her up:
Skin: vanilla, saffron, blush and oatmeal
Hair: Walnut, terracotta, spice, honeycomb and oatmeal
Dress and mask: Royal blue and midnight blue

The flower was white to begin with but i used my ProMarker (Royal blue) to colour it so that it matched the rest. I also gave it some stickles to make it sparkle a bit.

This butterfly is actually some left over candle decoration from my wedding last year. I thought it fit perfectly with the colour theme i had chosen for my card.

I hope my creation gets your creating juices flowing, so hop on over to the Crafts and Me challenge blog and join in on the fun.

A little award!

Hi peeps!

I am one lucky girl that has such cute and sweet friend like Johanna! She has awarded me with a little something, and it is so sweet of her. With this award comes a little demand. I have to tell you 8 things about myself, so here we go:

#1 I am a big B-person. I like to stay up at night and sleep long in the morning, lol.

#2 Liverpool is my fav soccer-team. And the first thing i asked my hubby when we started going out was what team he followed. Had he said Man U, we NEVER would have continued dating, haha. (He`s a liverpool fan too, lol)

#3 I live outside of Trondheim in the middle of Norway but originally i come from the beautiful Lofoten which is one of the greatest tourist pearls in the north of Norway. Google Lofoten and you`ll see. It is really worth a visit.

#4 Every other week my eldest daughter lives with us and she has decided that taco is our meal on fridays, lol. (The other fridays she is with her father)

#5 Cardmaking and scrapbooking is my #3 passion. The first 2 is obviously my kids and hubby. Oh...and i forgot Liverpool, hahaha...

#6 I love to travel though it doesn`t get too much of that. I wish i had unlimited access to cash, haha. Well most of us suffers from the same disease....chronical lack of money, lol.

#7 I hate the winter! Thank GOD for the summer!

#8 And last but not least. I love to cook.

This award i would like to give to some extremely talented ladies and friends in the blog world. Obviously i would have given it back to Johanna. You are the best.

Here they are in alphabetichal order:

Bonnie
Chanelle
Chris
Debbi
Lille
Mina
Shelby
Vicky

I know some of you rather wants a sweet comment but you`ll get that too, lol. You are so talented everyone of you and it gives me such pleasure to visit your blogs and look at all the wonderful things you create.

No matting and No layering at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey yah!

Is this a chellenge or what? It is Beth who has put us on the spot here. I really struggeled with this one. Thank God for lovely papers!!!!

For my card this time i have used an image from sheet #246 which is one of the newest sheets in the WhoopsiDaisy shop. I coloured her up with my ProMarkers. To make the dress a bit shimmery i painted it with some smooch in the same colour as the dress. You can see some stripes that looks allmost white in the pic. This is the smooch shimmering. My card is made from the Fairy flora Collection by Prima. This paper is just perfect for this kind of challenge and i just made it speak for itself. I just added some small embellies and the image and voila...finished

The colours i have used are these:

Hair: satin, putty, cinnamon and tan
Skin: vanilla, blush and oatmeal
Dress: Green and mint green

The butterflies is some images i found on the web. I just touched them up with some glitterglue. I think they are rather nice looking. The top-flower is from Kort and Godt.

Hope you like my creation. Head on over to the WhoopsiDaisy challenge blog and join our challenge!

The challenges i am entering are these:

Senile?....Me?....Noooooo.....

Hey everyone!

Oooops....i forgot to post my DT sample for the Glitter, Glamour and Glitz challenge over at Phindy`s Place, here in my own blog. I am so sorry! I have chosen to use Lula Shopping which you can find here. The image is designed by the talented Philomena O`neal.

I think she looks so posh...strutting on her way to shop even more.

I am not so happy by the colouring! I was going to give her a lush and red mouth but my colour bleeded out. I have NO IDEA of what happened here. Usually my paper doesn`t bleed so much. And i have learned to control where to end my colouring due to the bleeding. Well...but anyway, i didn`t have the time to make another one so i just had to use it. I promise my next card will be a better one.

The paper is from S.E.I and is called Juliette. Don`t remember what the flower company is called but the flowers came in a metal box with a magnetic back, so if anyone knows...please let me know. Please jump on over to the Phindy`s friday challenge blog and join our challenge.

Now i am off to enjoy the great weather. And hope i`ll get some tan, lol. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hugs...Mona

Double digi.

Hey peeps!

Finally the summer is coming to us here i the middle of Norway. Yesterday was incredibly hot for this time of season. It was soooo nice. Maybe i`ll actually manage to get fairly rosted before the summer is over, lol.

Well...anyway...every other saturday it is my time to show you my creations over at the Crafts and Me store blog. And for my card this time i have used two of the digistamps you can find in the Crafts and Me store. The first one is the lovely "Noon" by Sara Burrier. You can find it right here. The other stamp is the new mushroom fantasy and you can find it here. For the first time i actually went with a digi-paper and i think it fit perfectly to the image. The paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and you can find it here.

I really had so much fun colouring up the mushroom image and i am a bit satisfied with it too. The "Noon" stamp i adhered on 3D coushins to make it pop out a bit.

I was totally in awe when i created my card yesterday. Some new digis by Sara Burrier is soon to arrive in the Crafts and Me store. And they are soooo gorgeous. I just sooooo wanted to use one of them on a card #2 but i had to work this weekend so i didn`t manage to finish my second card in time. So i only have this one to show you for this time

The flower i mady myself and i also added a little sparkle.

Well...I don`t seem to have enything more to ramble about, thanks for putting up with me, lol. Just a little reminder...you still have the chance to enter the rockin` rubbah team`s Vintage/distressed challenge at the Crafts and Me challengeblog, so make sure to pop on over and join in on the fun.
