Butterfly Tutorial

Hey my sweet friends!

Finally i`m here with my very first tutorial ever, lol, so i hope you bear with me. This is a butterfly i saw at Wild Orchid Crafts. I couldn`t find it in there anymore so i thought i`d make my own tutorial of it.

This is what you need:

A five petal flower like the one on the pic below and a pearl stamen. Both are available at Wild Orchid Crafts. In addition you will need hot glue, pearls or rhinestones to embellish your butterfly with and some stickles or glue and glitter.

First you`ll have to fold one of the petals to the back of the flower.

The back will look like this.

Now you fold the petal and make a little snip on the middle of it.

Then you fold the pearlstamen in two, and put the little loop down in the little hole from the front side of the petal.

This is how it looks like from the backside.

Now you put on some hot glue for a quick fixative and fold the petal over the stamen.

Now you have the butterfly with the antennas. But it looks a bit boring just like this. You can embellish it any way you like. I have used stickles on the edges of the wings and put a couple of pearls in the middle of it. If you prefer to use glue and glitter to embellish the edges that`s entirely up to you. You can also use rhinestones instead of the pearls or maybe you want to drop the glitter and put some rhinestones on the wings as well. It is just your imagination that sets the limit.

Here is my finished butterfly. If you want to see how it looks on a card you can take a peek in this link.

Hope you liked my tutorial and that it was close to self explanatory, lol. Good luck in trying to make your own.

New challenge at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey Peeps!

Today we are having a new challenge at WhoopsiDaisy and we are challenging you to make your own embellishment. You can make whatever you want.

For my card today i have chosen to make another one of the sweet butterflies i sometimes put on my creations. My hubby has to take the laptop to work today, but when he comes home i will post a tutoral for the butterfly, so stay tuned. The image i have used is from sheet #303 and is one of the newest sheets in the WhoopsiDaisy shop. You can also find a sweet freebie there.

Now it`s your turn to make your own embellishment. Try it out! It`s soooo much fun. If you want to make a butterfly like mine, just come back after 20:00 today and you will find the tutorial for it.

We are doing shabby chic at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey my sweet friends!

Today we are having one of my fav styles as a challenge at WhoopsiDaisy. And that is....Shabby chic, yeeeeay!!! I just love to make a little mess with my creating. If you look closely on my card you`ll see that i have painted all my panels. For this i have used gesso blended with a tiny dash of water to make it a bit thinner and easily applicable. I have also used 9 layers in total inclusive the doily and the cheesecloth, so the card is quite heavy, lol.

The image is one of Linnie`s newest ones and you can find it on sheet #301. In the WhoopsiDaisy shop.

The colours i have used on this image are these:

Skin:
Vanilla, Saffron, Oatmeal, Tan

Hair:
Walnut, Terracotta, Spice, Honeycomb

Dress:
Baby pink, Coctail pink, Salmon pink

Pants:
Tan, Putty, Satin

I also have gottn a hold of these gorgeous lilys. They are quite flat, so the card doesn`t get so incredibly chunky. I just looove the looks of these.
