Steampunk bag`n tag card.

Hi everyone!

I while back i attended a class by Yasmin Tölche. We were creating a steampunk bag`n tag card. That`s a paperbag-card with a tag inside. I had so much fun doing this. I just love all the layering. I have learned a lot from Yasmin. She is so creative and energetic and so much fun to be around. Thanks for beeing such an inspiration Yasmin.

Well, you probabely want to see the card... so here it is.

Isn`t it cool? I just absolutely love it. Papers used are from Graphic 45....i think. If not, you have to arrest me on that, lol. The stamp, i do not know what brand it is, sorry.  But the chipboard gears are Sizzix bigz dies. These are covered with 3 different colours of embossingpowder which gives them this cool rusty effect.

The pieces is adhered in several layers to make this 3D effect. You can use 3d glue dots or just cut out som old chipboard-pieces. Old boxes makes grate 3D effect so don`t throw away your old cardboard-boxes. It`s a great way to do some recycling.

The metalpieces are mostly from Tim Holtz and Korthobby.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Colourful and simple

Hi everyone!

Today i`ve been home with a massive headache. It felt like my head was going to explode. But now i`m starting to feel a bit better. So here i`m sitting all alone in the darkness, thinking i have some blogging of old stuff to do, lol. Well i`m not the fastest to blog my creations but i hope you`ll bare with me anyway.

Last year i attended a crop with Irit Landgraf as one of the teachers. Amazing lady. So soft and delicate in her presence. I emediately took a liking to her.

With that said, i want to show you the two layouts i created during her class. They are not exactly my "style" but i really like how they turned out. And it made me want to try out this style some more. Hope you like them.

All papers and embellishments are from The Hip Kit Club which is one of the design teams Irit is a part of. I love the combination of colours and design of the papers.

.I just adore this pic of my youngest daughter. The photographer really caught the essence of her. She allways has a smile ready for anyone. She is strong minded and also know how to charm anyone, lol. I`m afraid she`s gonna become a heartbreaker when she grows up, lol. This pic is about 5-6 years old.

Irit also explained the prosess of blending the colours without mucking them up. And i really like how they acted on the paper. We used watercolour paper as a backround using distress inks to blend.

This next LO is showing how you can use your scraps and still manage to create something great with them. This one is quite simple but i think i pulled it off.

This pic was taken for her first day at school. And it is about 2 and a half years old. You can see she still has that lovely smile. My little baby sweetheart is growing older so fast.

Thanks for joining me today. See you soon.

ArJo`s Tag & ATC kos

Hi there everyone!

I`m joining in a little challenge on Facebook by ArJo`s Tag & ATC kos
This month Marianne Johansson is the guest designer and she has set the theme this time. Theme set is M - for Maling or in english, P for Paint.

We have to have a painted background and somekind of stamping and/or stenciling. All with paint.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I started off by painting the whole tag with white gesso. Next i started dabbing spots with Distress Paint (Milled lavender and Weathered wood) sprayed with water to make it run easier. Then i just held it different angles to get the paint blended. Then dried it with my heat gun. I then dabbed some extra spots here and there and dried it.

I then used Art Alchemy Opal Magic and Metallique Acrylic paint together with some stencils to create patterns. Stencils i used are Mini Harlequin, Mini Viva la art and Mini Complicated hearts. All by The Crafters Workshop. I also stamped a honeycomb pattern using black gesso.

I also used some shimmerz spritz (Plum pudding) to get some pink spots. I also used the top of the bottle to dip into the spritz to make circles. Finally i splatted some paint here and there. Here i have used White gesso plain, white gesso blended with Plum pudding spritz and Weathered wood distress paint.

I used my Dymo to make the text strips. To make it darker and more dramatic i used black gellato and rubbed it around the text and the edges. Around the ART text i used a gel pen course i didn`t want to muck it up too much.

To finish off my tag i coloured up some seambinding to match my tag. For this i used Plum pudding spritz for the pink one and Luminarte H2O Key Lime paint for the green one. I then added some bling and the metal medal from Tim Holtz.

If there is anything you would like to know about the creative prosess, don`t hesitate to ask. I will help as best as i can.

Thanks for visiting me today.

Vintage tag swap - The vintage typewriter tag

Hi again!

Today i will show you my second tag in the the vintage tag swap i participated in.
This one is the Typewriter tag.

This tag has lots and lots of layers and elements. I`ve tried to use up some of my scraps. I am not too good at using my scraps but throw them away....noooo, no, no, no, lol. So finally i got to make use of some of them.

The large gears and the wings and crown are chipboard created using the Tim Holtz, Sizzix bigz dies. And then embossed in several layers. The wings turned out so silky and beautiful. Absolutely loooove them. The heart is a silver metal heart which i coloured red with my ProMarkers. I found that the red colour really stands out.

I got my hands on these cute small glass containers. They are pretty small but makes such a pretty  addition to my creation.

I just wanted to show you a closeup of the gear. I just love how it turned out. I embossed it with three different embossing powders. Silver, copper from Ranger and midnight bronze obsidian from Lindy`s Stamp Gang.

I also love the filligree metal piece. I think it fits beautifully to this tag.

The ephemera is fussycut from a G45 paper.

On this last pic you can see all the different layers.

To finish off my tag i put on some micro beads from Finnabair and some bling here and there. And finally topped it with some seambinding. It was originally brown but i coloured it with a bright red, allmost orange starburst spray from Lindy`s. And i think the colour looks fabulous.

Hope you like my tag, and tomorrow i will post my last tag.
Thanks for visiting me today.

Vintage tag swap - The Vintage dressform tag

Hi there everyone!

A little while ago i participated in a vintage tag swap hosted by my friend Martica over in the states. She allways throws such fun and fabulous swaps. I`m not allways able to join in but this time i had some spare time to join. There is a lot of pics so i will post the three tags in separate posts.

First post up is the Vintage dressform tag.

I used a large manila tag #10 and covered it with papers from Maja Design, Vintage Summer Basics.
The chipboard frame is embossed with white embossing and while still warm i sprinkled some pink micro beads onto it so it would adhere in the embossing enamel. I was really happy about how it turned out. This frame is a bigz dies from Sizzix.

I left the dressform-chippie plain as i thougt it was the right look for this tag.

As i assembled the tag i used some digital tags i bought online from a company called "By Digital Paper". They have so much gorgeous shabby chic/vintage digital ephemera and stuff :-) You can see them behind the dressform stamped image. (The ones with the bird and the flowers.)

A little tip for you all. When you want to make some space between all your layers, it is great to use scraps of chipboard instead of the expensive foam tape. When i buy chipboard i allways save the scraps so i can use them behind images or other embellishments. So it`s a great way to create some dimension to your project. It also makes your project more sturdy.

Thanks for taikng the time to visit. Hope you liked my first tag. Stay tuned and tomorrow i will show you the next tag i have created for this swap.

12 Tags of 2016 - January

Hi everyone!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I however have decided to particiate in the 12 tags of 2016 by Tim Holtz. This is the first time i`m entering these tags challenges. I am so excited.

This first one is a Technique remix from earlier projects by Tim. Links to these techniques is provided in Tim`s post.

And here is my take on the project.

I was a bit unsure of how i could pull this off, as my inventory of embossing folders are rather slim, lol. I only own 3 pieces as embossingfolders haven`t been a passion of mine. Two of these were absolutely not suitable for this project so i just had to go for an old one from Marianne Design. I was actually going to get rid of it but now i`m happy i didn`t, hahaha.

Another problem i had, was chalk. Absolutely non-existant in this household. So what to do? Well i cheated a bit. Instead of the chalk technique i used white embossingpowder and a white colouring pencil to achieve the same look.

Well, I was at least satisfied with the end result and i had a lot of fun doing it, Hope you like it as well.

Supplies i have used:

Metal tape from my local hardware store.
White colouring pencil from Lyra.
Black and white acrylic paints

Thanks for visiting me today.

Father`s day

Hi everyone!

Today we are celebrating father`s day here in Norway, and in that regard my hubby asked me if i could create a card for him to give to his father. Of course i couldn`t say no to my sweet guy, så here it is.

I think this must be the fastest card i have ever made, but i really am satisfied with how it turned out. My hubby needed a card with a pocket to put a lotteryticket into, so this is what i created. I have seen these types of cards online before and found out it was a perfect card to use. I had to use my own measurements though, as the ticket didn`t have the same size as a giftcard. But the principle is the same. The tutorial i found here.

To decorate the card i used a piece of watercolour paper and used distress ink with a blendingtool and spritzing water to make it blend. Then i used spray inks with perfect pearls, which i have blended myself to get the shimmery parts. Finally i distressed the edges and inked them up.
The butterfly i got in a prize pack i received so i`m not sure what company it`s from but it might be Prima. The rub-on is from Staz.

Hope the explanation was understandable. I`m not the best tutor, lol.
Anyway....thanks for visiting me today!

World Scrap Battle - Card

Hi there everyone!

I`m ready with my second entry in the World Scrap Battle and Tournament. Today i will show you my entry in the Card category. The inspiration provided is the same for all the entries in round 1.

I have used some form of mixed media on all of my creations and for this card i have i have had some fun with the new stamp and dies set from Tim Holtz, Crazy birds. I think these are so much fun and totally adorable as well.

This stamp is coloured with distress ink. Mustard seed and Broken china. For the beek, i have used H2O Natural linen as i didn`t have distress ink in orange. I have never coloured with distress ink before and i think i have a bit of a learning curve ahead of me, lol.

For my background i used modelling paste from Prima`s Finnabair collection togheter with the Tim Holtz flourish stencil. After dry i spritzed with Carribean blue Flat fabio from Lindy`s Stamp Gang. Next i spritzed with Twinkling tinsel also Lindy`s, to get the shimmery effect. Least i blended some white gesso with water an put on some drips here and there. To finish off my card i stamped a sentiment from Visible Image with white acrylic paint on some black cardstock. I think their range of stamps are perfect for mixed media.

Tomorrow i will be back with my third creation for this battle tournament. I will show you my layout. Meanwhile, have a great day. Thanks for visiting me.

Entering the World Scrap Battle & Tournament

Hey peeps!

Finally i can reveal the creations i made for The World Scrap Battle and Tournament

There are 5 categories in the tournament and i have entered in 4 of them. Layout, card, alter and mixed media. I will post the creations one at a time over the next four days. Starting with my alteration.

The inspiration we were given for the first challenge is this picture:

I have altered a large clothespin
I was inspired by the colours of the banner of the photo. Since this happening is going on in Sweden i decided to go for the colours of the Swedish flag, blue and yellow as you also can find in the pic.

I started with gessoing the whole thing. Then i covered both sides with washitape. Then i coloured the whole thing in blue and a spot of yellow. I have used Tim Holtz`s Mustard Seed yellow distress ink for the yellow spec and Twinkeling H2O Autumn skies for the blue hue.

I also used the H2O to colour the Prima flower which started out completely black. I just loooove how it turned out. The seam binding is also coloured with Mustard seed Distress ink.

I have also used a stencil from The Crafters Workshop using one of the butterflies. Created the texture with modelling paste from Prima`s Finnabair collection. I coloured it with Mustard seed and topped it with some Golden sleighbells Magicals from Lindy`s Stamp Gang. Just a tiny dash to get the shimmery look.

To finish it off i have used bling from Marianne Design, a friendship sticker from Authentic, a butterfly chipboard piece from Make it Crafty. This one i just heat embossed with white embossing and glued on some clear class beads from Prima Finnabair. Also some tiny blue specs of H2O. A metal piece under the flower, some lace and a paper clip from my stash. Oh and i almost forgot. All the edges are smeared with Black soot distress ink.

With this creation i made it through to round 2 on walk over. Later today we will get the new task for round 2. I`m so excited, lol . Hope you come back and visit me tomorrow. I will show you the card i created for round 1.

Thanks for the visit.
