A new creation....actually

Hi there everyone!

I`ve actually got a NEW creation in store for you today. It`s a mixed media layout of my eldest daughter. She was in a bit of a crazy, funny mood when she took this selfie. Of course i had to use this for my layout as i thought it was kinda cool.

I started off with some modelling paste and a checker stencil. Next i used a stencil with numbers and some viva decor copper paste. For the spraying i used sprays from Lindy`s Stamp Gang. The final stencil i used is the leafy one, which i combined with distress ink, spiced marmelade.

When all the mediums had dried i stamped some text and a poststamp in random order. For the final touch on the background i used a cap of one of the spray bottles to "stamp" small circles of white gesso randomly. When finished with the background i started prepping the metal. I coated the metal with white gesso and then painted them with blue metallic blended with black, for the right shade.

Next task was to emboss the chipboardpieces. I have used embossingpowder from Lindy`s and Stampendous. I just love the blue shimmery colour of the arrow/feather piece. It doesn`t show too good on this pic but i promise it`s lovely.

I thought the sentiment was a bit describing for the mood in which the pic was taken, so i just had to use it. This piece was embossed with enamel from Stampendous. Here i have used Ivory. I just love the gold specs in it.

The photo was matted with a designpaper and a white paper using chipboard to make a more layered effect. I also added some playingcards just for the fun of it.

For some last finishing touches i have added a few flowers, some metal stars and some bling. And then splattered with black and white gesso as well as the two colours used on the background.

That`s it for this time. Hope to see you back here soon.

ArJo`s Tag & ATC kos

Hi there everyone!

I`m joining in a little challenge on Facebook by ArJo`s Tag & ATC kos
This month Marianne Johansson is the guest designer and she has set the theme this time. Theme set is M - for Maling or in english, P for Paint.

We have to have a painted background and somekind of stamping and/or stenciling. All with paint.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I started off by painting the whole tag with white gesso. Next i started dabbing spots with Distress Paint (Milled lavender and Weathered wood) sprayed with water to make it run easier. Then i just held it different angles to get the paint blended. Then dried it with my heat gun. I then dabbed some extra spots here and there and dried it.

I then used Art Alchemy Opal Magic and Metallique Acrylic paint together with some stencils to create patterns. Stencils i used are Mini Harlequin, Mini Viva la art and Mini Complicated hearts. All by The Crafters Workshop. I also stamped a honeycomb pattern using black gesso.

I also used some shimmerz spritz (Plum pudding) to get some pink spots. I also used the top of the bottle to dip into the spritz to make circles. Finally i splatted some paint here and there. Here i have used White gesso plain, white gesso blended with Plum pudding spritz and Weathered wood distress paint.

I used my Dymo to make the text strips. To make it darker and more dramatic i used black gellato and rubbed it around the text and the edges. Around the ART text i used a gel pen course i didn`t want to muck it up too much.

To finish off my tag i coloured up some seambinding to match my tag. For this i used Plum pudding spritz for the pink one and Luminarte H2O Key Lime paint for the green one. I then added some bling and the metal medal from Tim Holtz.

If there is anything you would like to know about the creative prosess, don`t hesitate to ask. I will help as best as i can.

Thanks for visiting me today.

Confirmation cards

Hi there!

Just popping in to show you a couple of confirmation cards i did on commission.

I believe all the paper used are from Kort & Godt. Please arrest me if i`m wrong. I accidentally tossed away the strip that had all the information so i don`t exactly remember, lol. And there it was again.....senile, lol

I don`t like the light. The pics were taken outside in daylight but i think they turned out too blue-ish. But the colours should be white / light grey.

I think these finished cutout pics are so cool. And they are perfect to use on boy cards. What i love about these papers is that all the elements you need to make a card, are all there. You have the paper, the image and the sentiment. This is awesome.

This makes it super easy to make a card in a hurry.

Thanks for stopping by today. I wish you all a great weekend.

I`m entering these in Papirdukkene`s challenge - Anniversary

12 Tags of 2016 - January

Hi everyone!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I however have decided to particiate in the 12 tags of 2016 by Tim Holtz. This is the first time i`m entering these tags challenges. I am so excited.

This first one is a Technique remix from earlier projects by Tim. Links to these techniques is provided in Tim`s post.

And here is my take on the project.

I was a bit unsure of how i could pull this off, as my inventory of embossing folders are rather slim, lol. I only own 3 pieces as embossingfolders haven`t been a passion of mine. Two of these were absolutely not suitable for this project so i just had to go for an old one from Marianne Design. I was actually going to get rid of it but now i`m happy i didn`t, hahaha.

Another problem i had, was chalk. Absolutely non-existant in this household. So what to do? Well i cheated a bit. Instead of the chalk technique i used white embossingpowder and a white colouring pencil to achieve the same look.

Well, I was at least satisfied with the end result and i had a lot of fun doing it, Hope you like it as well.

Supplies i have used:

Metal tape from my local hardware store.
White colouring pencil from Lyra.
Black and white acrylic paints

Thanks for visiting me today.

Ny inspirasjon til sommerutfordringen hos ProMarker Norge

Heisann folkens!

Hud: Coral. Sunkissed pink, Bush, Tan
HÃ¥r: Black, Cool grey #3,4 og 5
Øyne + lepper: Burgundy, Crimson, Poppy, Cocoa, Tan
Klær + hatt: Reef blue, Capri blue, Powder blue, Slate, Winterberry,
Lavender, Cool grey #3, Black, Icicle, Gold Metallic.

Cute card Thursday - Anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey - Die cuts and/or punches
MilkCoffee Challenge - Show us those colouring skills
Crafting by designs - Anything goes
Crafts and Me - Anything goes
Creative moments - Anything but a card
Inkspirational - Anything goes
Lady Anne`s - Anything goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything goes

Håper kreasjonen min faller i smak.

Guest Designing at Top Tip Tuesday

Good morning peeps!

As a designer for Kenny K`s Krafty Krew which is sponsoring today`s challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday, i`ve been so lucky have been asked by the lovely Samantha to create something for this challenge. Of course i had to grab the opportunity to give it a try, lol. It`s a real honour as these girls are really talented. Thanks for having me with you for this challenge!

The theme set for the challenge is:

Kidz / Teens

For my card today i`ve used an image called Ryder Cole and he is available here, at Kenny K Downloads. The papers i have used is from the Prima Printery Collection. I roughed up the edges a little bit for a worn look and then matted the image using a stamp shaped die cut from Marianne Design.

The colours i have used are:

Skin: Vanilla, Saffron, Oatmeal, Tan
Hair: Cocoa, Mustard, Buttercup
Trousers: Navy blue, True blue, Sky blue, Arctic blue
Jacket: Umber, Warm grey #3,4 and 5, Shale, Burgundy, Berry red, Lipstick red
Other colours: Black, Pear green, Lime twist, Lime Zest, Lime green

My Top Tip for you:
If you find yourself in the lack of the right colour cardstock to use as a mat behind your layers of design paper or your image, i usually just take a plain white cardstock and use my ProMarkers to colour around the edges with the desired colour. This way you get the exact colour you want. Just remember to soak your edges with a lot of colour so you get those smooth transitions.

Challenges entered:

Papelitos -Anything goes
Through the Craftroom door - Anything goes
Artistic inspirations - Anything goes
Eureka stamps - For the kids
Paper Playtime - Anything goes

I hope you`ll find the time to come and play over at Top Tip Tuesday, and also take a peek at what these fabby girls have created for your inspiration.

New release and blog-hop at KennyK`s Krafty Girlz

Hi Bloggettes!

I just managed to squeeze in a KennyK card. I have wanted to participate in the blog-hop, so i just had to create a card to enter too. I have used the gorgeous and sassy Carmen Electrafying. She is to be found right here.

I love the grunge style though i haven`t done much of this lately. I have made a lot of sweet cards so with my dad having birthday today, i`d had to make him a card, lol. This should be right up his alley, lol.

The ProMarkers i used for the colouring are these:

Hair:
Pastel yellow, Primrose, Buttercup.

Skin:
Vanilla, Saffron, Oatmeal, Tan

Boots:
Black, Ice grey #1,2,3,4,and 5.

Bandana and Nickers:
Berry red, Crimson, Cardinal red, Gold Metallic.

Some gears from Tim Holtz.

Look at the glasses. Doesn`t it look like real glasses? I put on some glossy accent and i`m real satisfied with the result.

Sassy studio designs - Dare to be sassy #82 Clean and Simple
Southern Girls - Challenge #23 Happy Birthday

Egenlaget bakgrunn

Hei Bloggere!

(For my foreign readers please use my translation button on the left)

What can i say?

Nordsalten Hobbyklubb - Utfordring #16 Selvlaget bakgrunn
