Vintage mixed media canvas

Hi everyone!

Is anyone starting to get in some Christmas mood? Well i`m not! So i`ll just have to work on it, lol. In the meanwhile i have worked on something else. I got commisioned a vintage canvas and that`s what i`m going to show you.

The size canvas is about 6x8"...ish.
I started with priming the canvas with gesso. Next i used some modelling paste and stencils to make some extra texture. I started gluing down my embellishments when the paste had dried. I used a chipboard frame from Blue fern studios and a leaf branch from Dusty attic.

The image is from Ppinkydolls and is coloured with ProMarkers.

I have used flowers from Prima mainly but also some few others. Several metal work pieces and some lace. It all were thoroughly covered with gesso before i sprayed the whole thing with several colours of sprays from Lindy`s Stamp Gang.

I finished it of with some gems and some liquid pearls.

Look at the gorgeous sparkle of the flower. It was coated in a generous layer of Stickles stardust. Looove how it turned out.

Hope you like my new project. Thanks for stopping by today!
I allways appreciate some love, hint, hint, wink, wink, lol.
See you soon.

Sweet baby girl

Hi everyone!

A month ago i became an auntie again. It`s been many years since last time. My husbands youngest brother and his wife became parents to beautiful little Melissa. In that regard i have created a card for them.

I`m just so totally in love with the new Prima, Heaven sent collection. It is so excuisite! Gorgeous colour combo and the cutest images ever. And not to mention all the foiled details. Oh...i`m so in love with it. And then there is the most gorgeous flowers and embellies, sigh....

Just look at the wonderful glittery roses. These are just to die for. Looooove, looove, love them.

The heart piece in the corner is homemade. I have used paperclay from Martha Stewart and a silicone mold to create it. I added a bit of stickles glitter glue around the heart edge and a bit in the middle of the flowers.

The chippie is from a polish company called Crafty Moly. I think it is so adorable. I just added a little bit of stickles to it.

I wanted to keep the inside fairly simple so i just added a sentiment and a diecut piece for writing. The die is from Joy Crafts. I also punched out some stars from the design paper for extra embellishment.

I kept the backside simple as well. Just used a small journaling card from the 6x6" pad as an embellishment, and a place i could put my name on.

Hope you like it. Have a nice day everone.

Vintage tag swap - The Bicycle tag

Hi everyone!

I`m sorry for keeping you waiting. I`ve been struggling with a heavy migrain the last couple of days, and it put me out entirely. But now i`m ready to blog my last tag for this swap.

This one is the bicycle tag.

I have aimed for a french feel on this one. Papers used are from Maja Design. The main paper is toned down using a thin layer of gesso.

I haven`t done much to the tag itself other than layering my embellies. I think the papers are so beautiful themselves so i just created a cluster of embellies from the middle to the lower part of the tag.

The Eiffeltower is cut out from a thin chipboard and then embossed with shabby blue embossing enamel from Stampendous.

The chipboard pieces is just covered with gesso. And blinged up a bit.

I added some flowers, a paperclay frame, some ribbon and this gorgeous metal bicycle, I think these small organza flowers are just sooooo adorable.

For the finishing touch i added a vintage button which i think is really beautiful.
At the bottom i put on some gorgeous yummy lace and a bling ribbon.

Well....that`s all my tags for the vintage tag swap by Martica. I have received such sweet comments from the recipients and i`m so happy they were pleased with my work.

I really appreciate your visits. Thanks.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Vintage tag swap - The Vintage dressform tag

Hi there everyone!

A little while ago i participated in a vintage tag swap hosted by my friend Martica over in the states. She allways throws such fun and fabulous swaps. I`m not allways able to join in but this time i had some spare time to join. There is a lot of pics so i will post the three tags in separate posts.

First post up is the Vintage dressform tag.

I used a large manila tag #10 and covered it with papers from Maja Design, Vintage Summer Basics.
The chipboard frame is embossed with white embossing and while still warm i sprinkled some pink micro beads onto it so it would adhere in the embossing enamel. I was really happy about how it turned out. This frame is a bigz dies from Sizzix.

I left the dressform-chippie plain as i thougt it was the right look for this tag.

As i assembled the tag i used some digital tags i bought online from a company called "By Digital Paper". They have so much gorgeous shabby chic/vintage digital ephemera and stuff :-) You can see them behind the dressform stamped image. (The ones with the bird and the flowers.)

A little tip for you all. When you want to make some space between all your layers, it is great to use scraps of chipboard instead of the expensive foam tape. When i buy chipboard i allways save the scraps so i can use them behind images or other embellishments. So it`s a great way to create some dimension to your project. It also makes your project more sturdy.

Thanks for taikng the time to visit. Hope you liked my first tag. Stay tuned and tomorrow i will show you the next tag i have created for this swap.

Mixed media card with Lindy`s Stampgang Sprays

Hi everyone!

This weekend i have enjoyed the company of allmost 80 crafty chicks at Trøndersaksa in Trondheim, Norway. We had a totally exciting and amazing time together. Such a talented and amazing bunch of girls. We laughed, talked and not to mention.... crafted long into the small hours. I just really didn`t wanted it to end so soon. Thanks girls, for a fabulous time. See you again next year!!!

Allthough we had a lot of fun, we also had to do what we ultimately were there for....crafting! At this point i only have edited the photo`s of this card i`m going to show you. I had started it a couple of weeks before the convention but i have been so stuck. But as stubborn as i am, i hadn`t given it up yet. And finally i got my craft juices flowing, lol.

Lately i`ve been playing around with some mixed media. I`m so in love with the sprays from Lindy`s Stamp Gang. The colours i have used here is the August limited edition spray set. Such vibrant an lush colours. Don`t know if you can see it, but the shimmer on the red and lilac colours are just amazing! And i love how this turned out.

I used some Heavy Gesso from Prima, creating some texture using the Tim Holtz flourish and the "Art is" stencil from Crafters Workshop. Next i stamped with the Grunge Harlequin stamp from Visible Image.

The frame is embossed with powders from Lindy`s. Loved how the green shimmer appeared.

Other products i have used are chipboard from Dusty Attic, metal from Korthobby here in Norway, Bling from Prima, Bo Bunny and Marianne design. The centre piece is made by myself. I was inspired by Gabrielle Pollacco on the heart and wings. These are made from the Martha Stewart paper clay.

I have also used flowers i recieved in a kit i bought long ago, so i don`t know the manufacturer. But the wood piece is Prima.

As a final touch i finished it all off with some glass pearls and micro pearls from Prima.

I hope you liked my card. And if you have any questions just feel free to ask me. I will help in any way i can.

Use our stash - New WhoopsiDaisy challenge

Hi everyone!

Have you had a great weekend? I have, lol. It`s been the first weekend in a long time that i have had time off from work together with my hubby. Earlier we have worked alternated weekends, so when i have worked, he has had time off and when he has worked, it has been my time off of work. Now that he has changed workplace he has time off every weekend, so maybe we get to see each other a bit more now, lol. How great is that, yeay!!!

Well...let`s get down to buisness. The new challenge at WhoopsiDaisy is use your stash. That means we want you to use up some of your stuff. It can be paper, embellies and so on.

This time i have tried something i have never tried before. I have used a die cut to make a frame in the frontpage of the card. The hard part was to make the designpaper fit. I only had one chance to make it right, so if i messed this one up, i would have ruined a perfectly good paper. But this time i got lucky, lol.

For the frame i have used Spellbinders nestabilites. The stash i have used up is the feathers, the ribbon and the net between the layers. The image i have used is from sheet #337, available here.

The colours i have used for the image are:

Skin:
Vanilla, Saffron, Oatmeal, Tan and Sunkissed pink for the cheeks

Hair:
Caramel, Sandstone and Buttercup

Dress:
Dusky rose, Pale pink and Budding rose

Thights:
Warm grey #3,#2, #1
