Tribute to my design-teams

Hey my sweet friends!

Today i have made a very special card to honour the design-teams i am so lucky to be a part of. It is just a little token to show you how much you all mean to me. This is the first time i try this type of card.

A while back Trish aka Diamond Doll had a tutorial at the Crafts and Me shop blog which i have used for my card. It is a tripple easel card. Thanks for a great tut, Trish.

As i said, i want to honour the design-teams i am a part of, and especially their owners for giving me a chance and for believing that i could do a good job in showcasing their stamps and be an inspiration to others.

To Linnie at WhoopsiDaisy... Thanks for letting me be a part of your wonderful team of incredibly talented girls. You gave me the chance to prove for myself that i could do this. And for that i am truly grateful. I really love to work with your sweet images.

To Teresa at Crafts and Me...I had applied for several design-teams before yours but you were the first one i applied for, to take me in. I am so happy to get to work with some of the most amazing images.

And last but not least Phindy at Phindy`s Place...Thanks for letting me be a part of your wonderful team. I have really fallen in love with your images. They are so sweet and fun. And i love the spirit of the team. The bond between the girls are amazing.

All three teams are very different and special in their own ways. But the thing they all have in common is the teams of extra-ordinary talented gals. You are all so helpful and inspiring and i really love you all girls.

Now that i am finished with all the moushy stuff, lol, i am going to show you the card. I have made a tripple easel card with one image from each team.

I chose images that looked a bit vintagy course i wanted a vintage feel to my card.

This first image is from WhoopsiDaisy. This is one of four lovely images on sheet #245 designed by the ever so talented Linnie. You can find it right here.

The next one is called "Dusk" and is designed by the talented Sara Burrier. This image you can find right here.

The last image is called "Speedster" and is designed by our talented Phindy. This image you can find here.

I hope you like my creation ladies course this is in your honour!

Thanks a lot everyone!

I am entering this card in some challenges too, and these are:

Pojjo`s - Make an easel card
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Challenge #19 A special reason
The Spotlight Challenge - Challenge yourself (my challenge is to make this type of card for the first time)

Ribbons and Lace at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey my lovely readers!

As i told the gals at WD yesterday i had to use another image for my card than intended. I was sitting here going to print out the image i was going to use for my card. I waited and i waited and then i waited some more...and nothing happened. I took a peek on my printer course i didn`t understand why it didn`t print and there it stood: Cartridge damaged or removed. Whaaaat? i thougt... Hmmmm i opened the printer and there i was... or in this case.... not! I had to ask my hubby if he had removed the cartridges but no he hadn`t and then it just leaves one little devils child, lol....of course she was at her grandmother`s so i couldn`t ask her where they were either. Imagine that...my eyes went huge when i noticed the cartridges were gone, lol. I can`t for the love of God understand how she managed to remove them. She is after all just 3 years old. But then again she is a really smart and devilish 3 year old so i should really stop believing that she does nothing wrong, lol. Well obviously i couldn`t use the image i was going to so i had to use one i had printed and coloured a while back. It`s not my best work but it just had to do.

I`m sorry but i don`t remember what colours i used on the image since it has been a while since i coloured it.

More closeups.

Here are the challenges i`m entering:

Pear Tree Designs - Challenge #51 Sparkle
Paper Crafting Journey - Challenge #11 Anything goes

Have a nice day everyone!

The little mermaid

Hi Peeps!

I`m a bit late today and i`m sorry for that. I have been at work and i didn`t manage to finish my card yesterday. So i had to do the last embellishing today. I will do this very short (at least i will try, lol)

I chose to use The little mermaid for today`s card. You can find it here. Originally i was going for an other image but i am getting a new craftroom so everything is a bit all over the place. And of course i couldn`t find the image i was going to use, lol. That`s the prize for beeing a messy head, lol.

The panel at the back is from the little yellow bicycle. I got it from my friend Johanna in Sweeden. Thanks sweetie! The blue ribbon around the image is actually some leftovers from the table decoration i used for my wedding last year. I also used some shells i got in a candy from my friend Dorthe aka Pipserier from Denmark. I think they fit perfectly to the theme of the card.

After i coloured the image i painted it with smooch to get the shimmery effect. The great thing with smooch is that it comes with a thin paintbrush so you can paint it on, instead of the glimmermist that has the spray bottles. It is impossible to get a presitional work done with these. Not to mention that it doesn`t curl up the paper as much as the mists does. I also used glossy accent to make the water bobles.

I just had to put on a metal mermaid too, lol. It kinda screamed to me that it wanted to be on my card. I really sounded schizzo there for a moment, didn`t i? lol.

There is still possibility to join the Gems and Pearls challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges, so run as fast as you can to your crafting area and create a little something for us. I KNOW you just loooove both gems and pearls, lol.
The challenges i`m entering are these:

Happy Birthday...Challenge at WhoopsiDaisy

Hi everyone!

Ready for a new challenge? At WhoopsiDaisy we want to celebrate birthdays. This is a wide theme. You can make just about anything. Just slap on a birthday sentiment and there you go. Easy peasy or what? So hop on over and join us. We just can`t wait to see what you can come up with.

This time i have made a card using one of my fav colours though i don`t use it too much. I just looove most shades of blues. This one is more turqoise/minty coloured. I just love the paper and the colour combo on it. I was out of turqoise cardstock but if you don`t have the right colour you can allways make it yourself. For the matting behind the image i used the same kind of printing paper that i use for my stamps and i just used my ProMarker to colour around the edges that were going to show around the edge of the image. And voila... you have a "cardstock" in the exact colour you want. The paper i`m using for printing digi-images is called Colour Copy and the weight is 200 g/m2. I buy it at Staples It is perfect to use for matting too so i save a lot of money not using basill as matting. It is thicker than ordinary printer paper and thinner than basill. I imagine for those of you that have die-cutting systems this must be the perfect paper to cut out embellishments. there are 250 sheets pr unit and i don`t remember exactly but i believe i payed about 150 norwegian kroners for it. (about $25 or £18 or probabely less in the US and UK since the Norwegian taxes is ridiculous) So you can do the math... lot of money to save.

I used some glossy accent on the bubles to make it look like water.

Challenges i am entering:

I did it creations - Challenge #56 Anything goes
2 Sisters - Challenge #40 Use a digi
Allsorts - Week 104 Birthday
Shannon`s Sentiments - Challenge #27 Birthdays

Christmas in may at Phindy`s Place

Hi peeps!

Here we go with a new challenge over at Phindy`s Place. We are doing Christmas-cards in may. It might be a good idea to start creating you`re christmas-cards early course when the time comes there allways is a shortage of christma-cards. I know most of you have stashed away your christmas stuff but now you have an excuse to get it out again, lol. The winner is picked randomly and wins a gift certificate of $5 to use in Phindy`s store. We also have a pick of the week which is chosen by the DT. The pick of the week also wins a gift certificate of $5 to use in Phindy`s store. The pick of the week is also eligible to get to be pick of the month which wins a guest DT spot and a free Phindy`s image to use in the challenge.

For my card this time i have used some papers from BoBunny`s christmas collection from last year. And i made it a gate-fold card. Since i don`t own a die-cutting system i had to cut the oval by hand. It is NOT easy to get an even circle but i think it looks fairly ok. I inked the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink. and stamped the edges with a swirlstamp from Tim Holtz. The image is coloured with ProMarkers.

The colours i have used is:

Hair: Primrose, buttercup and pastel yellow
Skin: Vanilla, blush and oatmeal
Dress: Poppy, berry red and crimson

The Wings, halo and edges of the dress is covered with stickles stardust. Which looks a bit furry when applied.

Hey Crafters!

The past week was for me a really stressfull one. I got a lot of extra shifts at work and my best friend`s daughter got confirmed. And as if i didn`t have enough to do blogger went awol. This week will hopefully be a little better though our national day is tomorrow. Here in Norway we have the most amazing celebration of our National day. We dress up nice and find our flags and parading in the streets. Those that don`t parade are standing along the route cheering the parade. This has been usual celebration since the end of the 1800`s.

We are also going to get a new valuation on our house so i have to tidy and clean...A LOT, lol. It`s not easy to have turbo 3-year old that messes up the house before i can say cake, lol. Maybe i have to rent her out for a few days, lol.

Well anyway....a bit late...here is my samplecard for this weeks challenge at WhoopsiDaisy. I have used an image from sheet #138. Aren`t these just sooooo cute and adorable? I looove them. Hop on over to the WhoopsiDaisy Challenge blog and join in on the fun.

The punches is have used is the Monarch butterfly punch and the double edge doily lace trim punch both from Martha Stewart and the flowers is an EK success daisy punch. The papers are from Tim Holtz`s Vintage shabby collection.

The colours i have used on the image is:
Hair: caramel, tan, putty and satin. on the boy i only used putty and satin.

Twilight Lily Fae

Hey peeps!

It has been a real crappy week and it got topped by blogger being awol. It`s typical when i have a work-weekend that something like this happens. So i was not able to scedule my post. I think it will be a looooong night, lol.

Well anyway...for my card today have used another one of the brand new digis designed Sara Burrier. It`s called Twilight Lily Fae and it is available right here. I struggeled a bit with the colouring but the end result was not too bad.

Things with wings at WhoopsiDaisy

Hey everyone!

Last challenge at WhoopsiDaisy obviously was a difficult one. There were not many who entered the challenge but the few that did, had some great creations. We are doing one nice and easy this time, so we want to see things with wings. It can be anything you want as long as it has wings on it.

For my card i have used a colour-combo that is a bit outside of my comfort-zone. I was peeking through my earlier blogposts the other day and i noticed that i use a looooooot of pink in my creations, so i challenged myself to do a card in some other colours. The image i chose looks a bit 70`s and orange was a popular colour those days, so i just had to try it. I am actually not surtain of what i think about it so i`ll just leave it up to you to make an opinion of it. The image i have used can you find here on sheet #67.

Please jump on over to WhoopsiDaisy and join our challenge this week. There are a couple of sheets of Linnie`s fabby digis up for grabs for the lucky winner.

Below you can see some more closeups.

Challenges i am entering:

The cheerful stamp pad - Challenge #17 Girls with curls
Come and get it - Happy birthday

Embossing challenge at Phindy`s Place

Good morning Crafters!

Are you ready for another challenge at Phindy`s Place? Yes? Well, then hop on over and let your creative juices flow. My talentes co-designers has some fabulous creations waiting for you to get inspired from. All the images we use, you can find in Phindy`s shop and there are some incredibly cute images there. I have fallen in love with the Wee Babbies collection. Just take look, i know you will love them.

Since i don`t own a die-cutting system i don`t have the opportunity to make my own embossed papers. Luckely i had a couple of sheets with pre-embossed papers laying around. They didn`t have the colour i really was going for but the end result didn`t turn out too bad. The image is called Flower top fairy mushroom minx and you can find it here.

The colours i used for the image are these:

Hair: Walnut, terracotta, spice and honeycomb
Dress: China blue and blue pearl
Skin: Vanilla, blush and oatmeal and pale pink for the cheeks.
Mushroom: Cinnamon, tan, putty and satin
Shoes: Marsh green and leaf green
The ladybug: Ruby and Crimson, black and cool grey 2
The ground is sandstone and the swirl is a mini-swirl from prima.

These are the challenges i am entering:

Swirls Challenge at Crafts and Me

Hey, hey, hey!

This week it is the Dynamite digi team`s turn to set the challenge. And it is the lovely Karina that has chosen the theme. I looooove swirls! Don`t you? I think they make a wonderful embellishment on a creation. The only thing i miss, is having a die-cutting system with the possibility to make swirls. Now i have to handdraw and cut them myself and it takes forever, therefor i don`t use them too often.

Well, anyway...the girls have really made some stunning creations this time. It really is amazing to see their colouring skills. They are soooo talented and i am sure if you pop by their personal blogs and leave them some sugar, they don`t get sad about it, lol.

Today i want to showcase one of the brand new digis created by the amazingly talented Sara Burrier. I truly loooove these new digis. If you visit the Crafts and Me store you can se all the new digis. If you don`t visit you really are missing out on some true masterpieces. Need i say more?

The name of this royal beauty is Natalie (i think she looks royal, lol) and you can find her here.

These are the colours i used to colour her up:
Skin: vanilla, saffron, blush and oatmeal
Hair: Walnut, terracotta, spice, honeycomb and oatmeal
Dress and mask: Royal blue and midnight blue

The flower was white to begin with but i used my ProMarker (Royal blue) to colour it so that it matched the rest. I also gave it some stickles to make it sparkle a bit.

This butterfly is actually some left over candle decoration from my wedding last year. I thought it fit perfectly with the colour theme i had chosen for my card.

I hope my creation gets your creating juices flowing, so hop on over to the Crafts and Me challenge blog and join in on the fun.
